Winemaker – Nick Goldschmidt

My first harvest was in my native New Zealand in 1982. By 1989, with my wife Yolyn in tow, I’d begin to travel the globe to make wine. To date, I’ve made wine in New Zealand, Australia, Chile, United States, Argentina, Italy, Portugal, Mexico (yes, even Mexico) and Spain. For many years now, I’ve worked two-harvest seasons—the first part of the year in the southern hemisphere and the second part in the northern. As you may have guessed, I love to make world-class wines, and even more so, I love to share them with folks who are as passionate as I am about wine.

After working as the executive winemaker for a couple of multinational corporations and having many excellent adventures discovering great vineyards around the world, I decided it was time to focus on my own brand. In 2008, Yolyn and I began Goldschmidt Vineyards, soon followed with Forefathers Wines, and then a few other brands as well. I now make wine in seven countries and own vineyards in five.

It is from this global bounty and wealth of experience and knowledge that I draw upon to craft the wines for Goldmark. I’m excited to offer my finest wines from around the world to our Goldmark Wine Club members.
